Counselling for Children and Teens

Children and teen therapy is different from conventional talk therapy.  Children express themselves through play and activities.  Play therapy is a way for children to make sense of their thoughts and feelings and life experiences.

EMDR And Play

The combination of EMDR and Play Therapy has shown to have significant success for children and teens.  With this approach children and teens are able to process and move on from trauma and distressing memories without having to talk about it directly.  This combination of therapies helps children move through their distressing memories at a faster rate than adults.  Children's brains are still growing they have the ability to process trauma and /or distressing memories quicker.  By doing so this leaves children and teens with more space to welcome new memories and experiences.
